I am an Associate Professor (Docent) in the Department of Political Science and the Centre for European Research (CERGU) at the University of Gothenburg. I completed my Ph.D. in political science at the University of Georgia in 2012. My teaching and research interests include political parties, European politics, representation, and political participation in economically advanced democracies.

I am a member of the Chapel Hill Expert Survey research team, which administers web-based surveys to estimate the positions of political party leadership throughout Europe on a variety of EU and domestic policy issues. I am also the co-principal investigator of the 2015 and 2019 Swedish Party Membership survey. This project collects and analyzes information on the political attitudes and behavior of over 10,000 members from Swedish political parties.

My research has been published in Comparative Political Studies, European Journal of Political Research, European Union Politics, Journal of Politics, and Party Politics, among other outlets. In 2018, I received the Jack Walker Award from the American Political Science Association’s Section on Political Organizations and Parties.
